Early Winter 2017 | 39 Tri-Town Trail Travelers The members of Tri-Town Trail Travelers have been busy since our first monthly meeting of the season which took place on Sept. 6. To date, we have completed several projects, including a trail change between T Bird Road and the Tunbridge Town Farm, a work bee to clear the trails from the Cilley bridge to OE 23 towards East Randolph, a culvert repair on the trail to Sawyer, and general trail trimming on many of our smaller trails so that once the snow flies, the groomers can get right to work. New junction signs have been ordered for all intersections on Corridor 14, complete with our refreshed club logo. Come one, come all to celebrate the holiday season at our annual Holiday Potluck and Yankee Swap on Dec. 6 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Bring along a friend or two, a dish to share and if you’d like to participate in the Yankee Swap, a wrapped gift valued at no more than $20. The festivities will begin after a quick business meeting. We hope to see you there! Monthly business meetings take place at 7 p.m. at the Tunbridge Town Hall on the first Wednesday of each month from September through March, all current and future members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Chris Trottier, Secretary Like us on Facebook Heather Quillia, Andy Rogers, Peter Button, Baxter Doty, Brian Miller, Jeff Young and Kristen Cronan take a quick snack break during a work bee near OE 23 in Tunbridge. Upper Valley Snow Packers Hopefully while you’re reading this, it’s snowing outside! I’m sure you’ve been just as busy as we have preparing for this season. Fall was very productive for our club with lots of bridgework. We installed two new bridges on Corridor 113 in Thetford, including a small reroute, one new bridge on our 25A class 4 trail, as well as installing guardrails on those narrow bridges. Lots of hard work and dedication have been put into these, and we couldn’t have done it without everyone who participated. Thank you! As you know, we got very lucky with the beginning of November being so mild, which gave us a perfect opportunity to complete our Piston Bully work day. The work was completed at Ben Tilden’s shop in Post Mills. Many folks gathered yet again Art Sinclair and Christopher Bacon do preseason work on the Upper Valley Snow Packers’PistenBully. to help get the job done. As a treat to all those working that day, Ben Tilden cooked a really tasty chicken barbecue, with all the fixings. President Stuart Bacon added, “There’s not many days in November you can eat outside at a picnic table.” The workday also included the maintenance and preparation for our Bear Cat used to maintain our secondary trails. Again, we want to really let everyone know how much we appreciate your hard work. We wouldn’t have the club or the trails we do today without you.
