SALES EVENT 2018 SRVIPER R-TX 2018 SNOSCOOT 2018 SIDEWINDER L-TX DX Our club meetings are the second Tuesday of every month at the Abbey restaurant in Sheldon. Jennifer Baker northwestriders.org Like us on Facebook GRAND ISLE COUNTY Alburg Sno Springers It has been a busy fall with boots on the ground getting our trails ready for the upcoming winter. The club was able to implement three significant reroutes, so no parts of our trail system are on town roads, and we are avoiding the school property. Corridor 78B from GI 7 to GI 3, which was a new trail last year, was moved from a section of the Truck Route to come in just north of Crossroads Travel Center. We received permission from a landowner to cut a new trail from the old rail bed of Corridor 2 through a wooded area to a field which avoids any travel on Summit Road, and only one crossing instead of three. Corridor 78W no longer goes through town; instead, it continues through the Bourdeau farm to the Jolly Quickstop across from the Legion. This should keep the inconsiderate from spinning up the schoolyard and discourage the vandalism of signs we experienced last year. Volunteers have been brush hogging and cutting through downed trees from the recent windstorms. Others have labored on servicing and repairing our two aging groomers to be ready when the snow comes. Our December meeting will begin with a potluck dinner. We are also planning a trailside cookout for later in the year. Everyone think snow and hope for a great season! Dave Ladd, President Rachael McFadden, Secretary Like us on Facebook Smugglers Notch Snowmobile Club As expected, fall of 2017 was a busy one for the Smugglers Notch Snowmobile Club (SNSC) as well LAMOILLE COUNTY as the other snowmobile clubs throughout the state. SNSC tackled a few small projects and a larger project involving a trail reroute due to the land being closed by the landowner. About 1/3 of the SNSC trails were debrushed thanks to the VAST debrushing grant. We had to redeck and reset the poles on a bridge on Corridor 15E trail between Jeffersonville village and Johnson. We also are in the process of doing some erosion control work on Corridor 108N.
