By having all these functions listed above filled, a county follows the VAST bylaws and the county articles of association housed with the Vermont Secretary of State’s office. In October, all club presidents in these two counties were sent a meeting announcement and description of why the meetings would be taking place to share with their members regarding VAST assisting the county in holding elections to fill as many positions as could be filled. In addition, announcements were made in the VAST e-blasts. Meetings in each county were held on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Each club in attendance was given one vote. Nominations were made in advance of the elections. As a result, Bennington county now has a new director and Windham county has elected a new director, an alternant director, county president and reelected the county trails coordinator.
