Late Winter 2018 | 45 Club News to get our trails cleaned up for more riding, with another storm expected later this week. Just because it’s March, winter isn’t over and we can still have some great riding. Hope to see you out on the trails. Vernon Trail Breakers The season started out with some great riding, but Mother Nature was not in a mood to cooperate. At least we were able to get in some good riding thanks to our grooming team of Trailmaster Adam Newton and his sidekick Andrew Evans. They kept things going as long as conditions allowed. We also got some good trail trimming accomplished thanks to Mary Ann Rosinski and Jeremy Murray between snow events. The foul weather however did not hurt our annual snowmobile rides at Brattleboro’s Winter Carnival. With some help from Treasurer Jeremy Murray we had the kids all getting rides throughout the day and many had multiple rides. I couldn’t help but think that some day, some of them would end up in the ranks of Vermont snowmobilers. I’d like to thank everyone who joined the club again this year and we look forward to another season, hopefully with more snow! This lucky youngster was first in line to ride with Treasurer Jeremy Murray. Jacksonville E-Z Riders Well, Mother Nature has been up to her old tricks this season. What opens must also close and, by mid season, we have done that a few times. The first weekend of March did yield a nice storm, but that all depended on what side of the county you were on. Like all the other storms the last 30 days, the snow cover did not hold. By midweek we were on the eve of another major nor’easter with more possibly on the way in the next few days. We are all hopeful the current snow patterns continue and we can see the season through with colder temps and continued snow cover. We want to give a special thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers and all that attended the Jacksonville E-Z Riders SNOWFEST 2018. We fell short of snow cover by one day for our trails to be open. A few did trailer in and we were happy to see a few enjoying the open fields of the property. Our trails were closed but that did not stop the great food, prizes, raffle and friendship shared. We did have just enough snow to once again be able to provide demo rides thanks to Southside Sales and the seven awesome snowmobile demos they provided. It was a huge hit for all that attended. A complete update of the event can be found on our website. The E-Z Rider’s Facebook page is updated with important information, meetings and trail information. The Whitingham Maple Sugar Festival will be held March 17. We will be cooking up a good old-fashioned Vermont pancake breakfast Sunday morning at the Jacksonville Municipal Center from 7 a.m. Have a safe season and we hope to see you on the trails. Please always respect the land we travel through. An E-Z Rider  ezriders.org  Like us on Facebook
