Don’t forget that the Chittenden Dammers meet the first Tuesday of the month at the Mountain Top Tavern at 7 p.m. September through April. Charlie Robbins, Treasurer chittendendammers.org Like us on Facebook Club News Mount Holly Snow Flyers In the last few weeks, Mother Nature has not been on our side. We had to cancel our annual Snow Ball Ride-In. We are hoping that the second half of the snowmobile season will allow us to reschedule it. Please stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for details. The club has decided to move forward on purchasing a new grooming power unit. We will be fundraising for the remainder of this season and through the next season to help with the funding for the new groomer. Please come out and support your clubs. Thank you to our members and volunteers for your support and loyalty over the years. Thank you, landowners of Mount Holly, for the use of your land and the support you have given the club. Steve Forrest, President mounthollysnowflyers.org Like us on Facebook Shrewsbury Sno-Birds We are starting the first full week of March and the riding in our area is slim after the long warm spell. We did just get 5 inches of snow late last week but the ground was so warm that it was melting from the ground up. We are hoping that this next storm mid- week will get us back up and running. Before the warm up, the ice on our trails was really bad so we purchased 12 traction aids for our Tucker. They really helped us out. This has been one of our most challenging seasons with the drastic weather changes. Let’s hope that the rest of the season is snowy, as we don’t have the usual base to keep us going when it really turns to spring. I did see some snowmobile tracks crossing US Route 4 yesterday on the 5 inches of fresh snow. It is a good thing it had some body to it, as there was not much left from before. We did go and smooth out the snow at the Center Street sliding party. We did not know how well it would work because the temps got up to 61 degrees! A good time was had by all that attended. In the years that we have been doing this, the temps range from below zero to 61 this year! At next week’s meeting, we will be starting to see if we are going to be in the positive with this years budget. It looks like it is going to be close. When we started this year, it looked good, but with the expenses and now no grooming it will be close. We will also start discussing trail projects and summer maintenance on the Tucker. I want to thank Dad for all his help with grooming, changing out the equipment when needed and with the repairs that were needed this year. We all know you have not felt that good for a while! Our new secretary, Mike Gabriele, is doing a great job as did our last secretary, Scott Ryan. Remember that we would like to see everyone at our club meetings on the second Tuesday of every month for more input on how we can improve the club and ideas on fundraisers. By the time you get this, spring will be well in progress. Enjoy the next season! Ride safely and ride right!
