As we all get out to enjoy the snowmobiling season, let’s all remember to ride safe, stay on our side of the trail, and slow down to enjoy the scenery the state of Vermont has to offer. Most important, stay on the trail! Happy trails to everyone! Gloria Rodrigue, Secretary orleanssnowstormers.com Like us on Facebook Club News Chittenden Dammers It’s here! The excitement is building for those of us who really crave that sensation of a sled ripping along a freshly groomed trail. The winter looks great, and the trails are ready. The trail crew has been hard at work clearing, repairing bridges, debrushing, putting all the signs back in place, as well as other tasks to get things in fine order to get us “riding smooth.” Many thanks to Paul & Gwen Racine and Trailmaster Doug Todd as well as numerous others. On the subject of trails, Paul and Doug informed us that they hit a snag in the North Pond reroute. They encountered lots of ledge and water during excavation, which resulted in modification of the reroute plan; the trail remains on the same line but wider and with better drainage. You’re all invited to the Chittenden Dammers’ first annual “Dam Good Time,” on Jan. 13 . Doors open at 5 p.m. for cocktails and silent auction, with dinner at 6. The auction features some good stuff from local merchants, including snowmobile related merchandise. This gala will be a ride in (or drive in) event held at the Mountain Top Inn Party Barn. It will feature a prime rib buffet with a chicken alternative and includes salad, RUTLAND COUNTY vegetable, and dessert. A cash bar will be available along with Rick Redington entertaining. The Inn has graciously offered to work with the Chittenden Dammers on this event to help support the local community of snowmobilers. Please consider attending! Tickets are available from club members, or give me, Charlie, a call at 802-353-0789, and I’ll mail you tickets at $40 per person. Tickets are also available from club members; see our web site for more information. Thanks go out to Amy Carr and Jodi Casey for masterminding and planning this event. Hope to see you there! The club meets the first Tuesday of the month at Mountain Top Inn at 7:00. Check out our website, chittendendammers.org, our instagram chittenden_dammers, or our Facebook page.
