32 | Snowmobile VERMONT Club News Corinth Sno-Scramblers Happy December! Winter, our most favorite season of all, is officially upon us. We have been very busy over the last few weeks working on final trail preparations and groomer repairs. In the last two months, we have worked on rebuilding and repairing a couple of bridges. The first bridge we did a complete rebuild of is on Corridor 25, just off Tenney Road. For this bridge, we were able to get three 45-foot long-beams, which required the use of some heavy-duty equipment to put them into place. The other bridge, in Fairlee, had some minor repairs. In other news, we have Corinth Sno-Scramblers apparel available for purchase on our website or by contacting kim.thody@snoscramblers. org. We have crew neck sweatshirts ($25), hooded sweatshirts ($30), T-Shirts ($15), and fitted baseball hats ($20). The proceeds from the sale of these items are going directly to our grooming and trail maintenance fund as we have had to make some extensive repairs to our Tucker Sno- Cat groomer this off-season. Once again this year, we also have Corinth Sno-Scrambler memberships available for just $18 even if you purchase your TMA elsewhere. ORANGE COUNTY We are very much looking forward to a great winter of riding. A huge thank you to our generous landowners and volunteers for making these trails happen. We couldn’t enjoy all that we do without you. Be sure to ride right, stay safe this winter, and think snow! Kim Davis, Webmaster snoscramblers.org Like us on Facebook Frigid Frost Fighters “Kindness is like snow—it beautifies everything it covers.” Writing this, I am looking out my window at the trace of snow on the ground. Once again, we are reminded that winter is just around the corner.  We are hopeful it will bring a successful season of trail riding with snow and colder weather to keep the trails covered.  The annual club meeting was held in November 2018.  The following members were elected: President Rory Allen, 802-685-2166; Vice President Bill Hemson, 802-685-3186; Trailmaster Clint Rodger, 802-685-4432; Treasurer Christine Allen, 802-685-2166; Secretary Bonnie Pierpont,  802- 685-4908; Membership & Publicity Chair Heather Comstock, 802-685-3885. Our monthly meetings are the first Tuesday at 7 p.m. from Oct.–April at the Chelsea Fire Department. Our club email address is Frigidfrostfighters@ gmail.com. It has been a very busy season for the workers of the Frigid Frost Fighters. Through two organized work days and the ongoing vigilance of our volunteers, we have inspected all of our trails and have made necessary changes to ensure that you have a safe and fun day in our area. The trails have been cleared of any debris; water bars have been constructed to help shed any running water and melting snow; bridges have been inspected and maintained. In some cases, minor changes have been made to the trails. If you are out riding and see an area that may need our attention, please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can address your concern. We will be spending the next several weeks identifying the trails with signs.  We continue to thank all of the landowners everywhere, who have made snowmobiling possible. We ask that, as the season gets underway, riders respect their generosity: please, remain on the trails and leave no evidence of your visit. This will help ensure access to the trails for years to come.     Our club is in the process of working out the details of “A Day of Fun” event with friendship and comradery, sometime in January or February. Please watch our newsletter or visit our Facebook page for details. We wish you a safe and enjoyable 2018-2019 snowmobiling season. It is not what you ride, but that you ride! Bonnie Pierpont, Secretary Like us on Facebook Topsham Ridge Runners Its snowing! OK, well, at least as I am writing this, it is. It’s a nice reminder that the riding season is just around the corner. My right thumb is starting to twitch, and my thirst for a frozen adventure is growing. Before the season can start, though, there is still much to do. It has been another busy summer of brushing, trail projects, and working with landowners. We owe thanks to both Bill Ricker and Tony Spooner for their work on our trails this summer. At the end of the summer we put together another great landowner appreciation picnic. We had a good turnout, and it feels good to give back to those who make our trails possible. Without our landowners, we don’t exist! This year, we also started a sign board for our club. If you are on our trails, check it out and see who has reached out to support us for the upcoming season! Our hope is that funding generated by our sign board will help our club to grow and improve for years to come. record time. And thanks to VAST and Stan Choiniere for the fasteners, which helped immensely and saved us a lot of money, not to mention thanks to the Reynolds family for their kindness and cooperation. Both groomers are ready to rock and roll. We’re all looking forward to overcoming the present obstacles and making this year a great one on the Alburgh trails!
