Summer 2017 | 3 VAST VAST NEWS NEWS Summer 2017 MAP UPDATE VAST will be printing new maps for 2017-2019. Throughout the summer, we will be accepting updates to the trail system and incorporating the changes on to the new map. In addition to the paper map, the changes will be reflected on the interactive map as well. All changes to the trails map must be submitted by August 15. Late submissions will not be accepted and will affect the accuracy of your trails reporting. Businesses can sign up for this year’s interactive map and Snow Traveler’s Guide online at www. vtvast.org/ business-listing.html. In addition to the map updates, VAST will be rolling out a new, more user-friendly trails condition reporting module. This online system is dependent on having accurate trails data. Please take the time to look at your trail system on the VAST website by going to vtvast.org/clubs, selecting your club, and clicking on the “Trail Map & Conditions” tab. If any of your trails are incorrect or assigned to the wrong club, please contact shane@ vtvast.org with your changes or questions. This letter from Vermont Governor Phil Scott was sent to our office in April. We have reached out to clubs to see if they would like a copy to pass along to the landowners in their trail systems. It was also available at the Construction Seminar in late April at the Barre Auditorium. If your club did not have GOVERNOR THANKS VAST LANDOWNERS a chance to pick up a copy, you may go to vtvast.org under the “FORMS” tab to download a PDF that you may print copies of for your landowners. This is a wonderful message of thanks to give out at your landowner dinners or to mail with your landowner permission forms for the upcoming season.
