36 | Snowmobile VERMONT Phillips, the better half of Director Brandon Phillips, made that exact heart breaking revelation to family and friends recently. On Sept.16, the Drift Dusters will be assisting with a Bingo benefit at Paul’s Sugar House in Derby. The club would like to give back to the family that has been extremely involved in our success the last few years. Details will follow on our Facebook page and I look forward to seeing everyone who comes out to support the cause! You got this, Amy! Vice President Roger Gosselin has put in extensive effort this summer towards the paperwork and preparation for replacing dated and dangerous bridges on our trail system. We will be looking for volunteers come September and October to replace these bridges as the weather cooperates and the ground dries from this non stop rain. I can only hope that it snows this winter as much as it has rained so far this summer. Look out on Facebook and Hardcoresledder for posts regarding these bridge repair projects. I would also take the time to thank GetSno for the top notch service we have received in regards to our Tucker. Two of our tracks had extensive cracks and with the support of GetSno, Camso has agreed to warranty and replace both tracks and we are currently waiting for the installation of the new tracks. As the summer draws to a close, I look forward to the upcoming season as the Drift Dusters have new initiatives in place to encourage the involvement of our membership. We look forward to new faces at our monthly meetings, involvement with our Poker Run, Winter Bash and look out this year for photo contests with Drift Duster gear as prizes! Keep calm, winter is coming! Amy is bravely fighting breast cancer. Orleans Snowstormers Wow, blink once or twice and summer is half over! I hope everyone is all enjoying the season. Before long, the foliage will be changing, the weather will start cooling and we will once more be headed for another snowmobile season. We have been busy evaluating our trail system for pre-season repairs and preparations. We will have five small bridges to repair and replank and a few culverts and washouts to address. Of course, we will find more projects when we go around this fall for landowner permission. We need help to do all this and are asking anyone who wishes to help to give us a call or email and we will add your name to the list. We are hoping to get this work done in late September through October before cold weather sets in. On June 17, our club was proud to once again be a major supporter of the Relay For Life event held in Newport. This is a wonderful organization raising much needed funds to help cancer patients and their families deal with this deadly disease and its effects. We would like to thank Bonnie and Larry Dwyer, club members and directors for their involvement in this organization and for representing the hearts of our club membership. Great job, guys.
