Summer 2017 | 43 Club News voted to award three $700 scholarships to graduating Green Mountain Union High School students going on to higher their education. We also voted to make charitable contributions to several local organizations, including the Chester Rescue Squad, Yosemite Engine Company and the Chester Andover Summer Camp program. We are proud to be supporters of our community. After our meeting, the club held their end of season barbecue where over 30 folks enjoyed kabobs, salads, mac and cheese, fruit cup and more. It was great to wrap up the season with so many friends sharing stories and great food. Again this year we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the landowners who allow us to have a trail on their property. Have an awesome summer while looking forward to our next snowmobile season. On May 20, we held our Landowners’ Dinner at the Chophouse in Ludlow. The Chophouse did a fantastic job with a delicious buffet spread. Everyone was well fed and had a great time. June 16 was our golf tournament fundraiser, with close to 100 die-hard and fun-loving participants who braved the wet weather at Green Mountain National. Our generous sponsors were: Pro Cycle, Darcys, Murdocks, Post 36, the Marshall family, the Martell family, Putnam Pools, Ludlow Insurance, Cafe at Delight, Steve Kondracki, Brewfest Beverage Co. and Arnow Construction. Congratulations to Team Sanderson, winning first place and to Team Garvey for getting second place. We had a beach party at Plymouth State Park on June 17, which was a lot of fun with good food and camaraderie. The rain held off too. Much gratitude goes to all those who participated and volunteered and to those who sponsored the golf tournament. We couldn’t have done it without you! Keep on the lookout for trail maintenance events. There’s a lot of work that needs to happen this year. We are planning on rebuilding six bridges on Okemo. Also, a reroute from the lake area is being researched and, hopefully, will get implemented. If you are interested in becoming part of the team that makes the trails come to life, please keep watching our Facebook page and our website for info on trail work days. As always, thank you landowners, businesses and members for sticking with us and for supporting the club. Without you, we would not have anything. Enjoy the rest of summer!
