40 | Snowmobile VERMONT details on the dinner, please check out our Facebook page event. With all that being said, the winter is off to a great start and looks like it will continue. The groomer operators have been busy grooming and cutting brush from the early ice storm that we received. The trails are great and only getting better. We hope everybody gets out and enjoys the trails. We also hope to see everybody at the Spaghetti Ride or Drive. As always, don’t be afraid to get out and volunteer with your local clubs. They could always use a helping hand. Be safe and enjoy the ride. Whoever is doing the snow dance, keep it up. It’s working and we all like it.  Mike Mann, President  Like us on Facebook The Justin Morrill Drift Skippers’PistenBully takes a break after its return trip up and down Corridor 5 at intersection OE 3. Topsham Ridge Runners  Man, what a start we have had to this season! After a couple of good storms in December, most of the state was up and running. By the first week in January, there were areas that even had mid-season conditions! It wasn’t all that easy though. A little rain at the very beginning of the season pulled weak saplings and branches that were out of reach of the pole saw down into the trail. A last-minute brushing effort was called into action to make sure trails were safe for riders. The rain seemed to catch many clubs off guard. We owe a huge thank you to all those that helped around the state. I would also like to extend another thank you to Denis Carrigan for his help getting trails ready right before opening day. If you haven’t had a chance to come check out our trails yet this year, please do! What a difference the summer projects have made. The section we targeted north of Porky’s fields is wide, safe and smooth, as well as the area south of the lean-to on Corridor 5. We are still thinking about projects for the off season, but for now, let’s ride! See you out in the trail! Andrew Connell, Vice President  Like us on Facebook Tri-Town Trail Travelers The 2018 snowmobile season has started out with a bang and a decent amount of snowfall before the official opening of our trails on Dec. 16. At the time of this writing, the major trails have been groomed by the Tucker three times since the first big snowfall and our Class 4 trails have been groomed weekly. The only good thing about these frigid temperatures is that the trails are setting up nicely. Our annual holiday potluck and Yankee Swap took place on Dec. 6 and was a big success. We had 21 members in attendance ranging in age from nine to 90! We also welcomed some new members this year! Despite all of the trail work that the club completed in the fall, the seemingly never-ending storms over the holidays caused extensive ice damage in the upper elevations and will likely require another work bee when the temperatures even out a bit. By the time this is printed, I am sure we will all be out enjoying the trails to their fullest. Monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month, September through March at the Tunbridge Town Hall beginning at 7 p.m. Join us! Upper Valley Snow Packers  A snowy greeting to you! Is it true? We have snow early this year? We hope you’re thoroughly enjoying yourself out there. As for us here, we’ve been very busy getting the trails busted out and ready for all to enjoy. Thank you to our hard-working grooming crew, both on the main trail and our secondary
