Our core group handles most of the workload, but we have a great support system of volunteers that are usually more than happy to help out when we need a hand. We have been very fortunate to get some new volunteers recently, and that makes us optimistic about our future. EVENTS Thanks to help from many local businesses, we hold an annual calcutta dinner and dance fundraiser each year. Every ticket is a winner, and people always have a great time. Each ticket is good for one couple. We only sell 97 tickets and raffle off three others at the dance. It is an important source of income for us. This year is our tenth anniversary of the calcutta and we are celebrating it by having a band instead of a DJ. We always do a 50/50 raffle at the dance and donate those profits to charity. Besides having monthly meetings, we also have a Facebook page that we update regularly. You can follow along with our fall trail work, view updated trail conditions and know when we could use extra hands for large projects. You can purchase our TMA trail passes from the following businesses: Crosby Sales and Service, Champlain Valley Motorsports, Gill’s Place, AC Sports, and the Lincoln General Store. Mary Wright and Mike Paquette also have trail passes for sale. The club holds an annual safety course that educates new snowmobilers in the proper and safe way to enjoy our sport. We are planning on having a club ride-in and a snowmobile appreciation trailside lunch this winter. Stay tuned for details. THE FUTURE Our club has been successful over the years for many reasons, but one of them is that we have always been very welcoming to new members and we really do a great job of working together. We realize that everybody has different skills and can help in different ways. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer and help with the success of our club for years to come. We hope that you will all have the opportunity to ride many miles this winter and if you find yourself near our trails, please come and check them out. Thanks to everyone that makes VAST such a great organization! facebook.com/footeofthemountainsnotravelersclub vtvast.org/foote-of-the-mtn-sno-travelers.html
