The officer elect meeting will be held by the time this article is printed and the club would like to thank Arvad’s Grill for hosting the event this year. The Roamers are looking forward to a great season and we would like to say thank you to all the volunteers out there. Our success as a club relies on you, your hard work and dedication. Sno-Bees of Barre Happy New Year to all! We started out with a bang but seem to be in a snow slump as I write this. Hopefully, by the time you read this we have gotten back into a good snow pattern that will give us some good cover and smooth trails. We had our dinner raffle on Dec. 2 and it was a very enjoyable night with a good crowd and some great food. I would like to thank both Corey Laferriere and Adam Spaulding for the excellent job they did chairing this event. Even though our riding opportunities have been minimal, the complaints from landowners are already starting to surface. It never ceases to amaze me that some riders believe they are entitled to do as they please on the trail system, such as riding off the trail, not stopping at stop signs, not keeping to the right and leaving trash out on the trails. If this is you, stay home. We don’t want you out on the trails to ruin it for the people that respect what we have. The whole statewide trail system is maintained by volunteers and we don’t need you out there destroying everything that we have worked all year to create. If you are one of these people, stay on the porch and let the riders that know how to respect what we have enjoy the trails. Mike Perrigo, President snobees.com Like us on Facebook Deerfield Valley Stump Jumpers What a welcome surprise to the start of our season in southern Vermont! We were actually able to ride on opening day! The trails haven’t been too bad considering the light, fluffy now. It’s only early January as we write this and we can access all points of interest. Many great things have happened since the last time we checked in with everyone. We had a great holiday party at the Dover Forge. It was well attended by the officers, BOD, members and landowners. We’ve also completed a few new reroutes, so our riders can continue to access the great restaurants on our trails. Reminder to those that haven’t heard yet, the only place for gas on our club’s trail system is at Nido’s in Wilmington. You can access Nido’s through the Chimney Hill area. Chadwick’s closed for business as of this past summer and the property remains vacant.
