Our construction ensured that the stream bank would be left untouched and that we would minimize our impact on the landscape. A sign was placed at either end of the bridge thanking our volunteers and sponsors including Rice Lumber, Mitchell Excavating and Gary Clark. As of Jan. 9, our gates are currently closed. We simply don’t have any valley snow. We are hoping to get enough to at least trailer our groomer to the bottom of Charlie Smith Road at junction CN 10 to clear to the Mad River Ridge Runner’s turnaround and enable some elevation riding. We have bridges this area that were constructed in 2015 that we haven’t crossed. It would do our morale some good to get out and ride the trails and infrastructure that we work so hard on. We’re hoping our patience will pay dividends shortly! Until then, we’ll continue chipping away at projects and continuing to improve our trail system to ensure that we can ride when we can. Our volunteers were very busy getting all of our trails signed and ready for our three PistenBully groomers to get out and do their “stuff” that they do so well on the first day. It looks like it is going to be a great season. We have been very fortunate with our trails this season with only one closure (142A) in our more than 100 miles of trails that we groom. There have been several trail closures to our north and shared roads but there is usually a way around them to get you where you want to go. The new local county maps show these closures and are available at the Welcome Center in Island Pond during the snowmobile season. State maps will also be available. We hope you will stop by just to say hello, check out other things that we have for sale, use the facilities or just get warmed up. The Welcome Center is open Monday through Thursday mornings, all day Friday and a half day on Saturday. If there are other times that we are not open, we can try to make special arrangements to help you out with trail passes by calling Janet at 802-895- 2951. Please call ahead. We will also be selling some state registrations if they are a Vermont renewal or from another state with a previous year’s registration. You will also need to provide information on where, from whom and when you bought your sled. Renewals do not need a bill of sale. We will not be doing Vermont state registrations on any new purchases or transfers. You must go
