Our second club ride of the season will be held March 4 and details will follow. Have a great and safe season and we hope to see you on the trails. An E-Z Rider ezriders.org Like us on Facebook Jacksonville E-Z Riders’ongoing resigning project is providing great results. Vernon Trail Breakers No more dreaming of a white Christmas; we got one. It looks like we are in for a real winter. When making a great winter, the key ingredient is snow, I think we can all agree with that. Another major part of the puzzle is cold! So far, so good. We have plans for our Annual Snowmobile Ride at Memorial park in Brattleboro this February and hope to do a Winter Outdoor Day at the Vernon Rec Dept. in conjunction with the Vernon Trails and River Front Committee. The more people we get to try our sport, the better it will be. We have a new big sign at the new junction 1 in town with a map and other information on it. We have new junction signs and a reroute in place. We also have new club maps which are GPS correct and have lots of info as to trails and such on them. Hope everyone had a great holiday season and we look forward to a great season on the magic carpet known as snow. Don Rosinski, President vernontrailbreakers.org Like us on Facebook Wardsboro Pathfinders Here’s the good news: we were able to open the 710 trail on opening day! The not-so-good news: it didn’t last long, as deep mud holes opened up from warm weather and we had to close it during the Christmas/New Year holiday week. To complicate things, some people have been riding side-by-side ATVs on the trail, essentially making it impassible for snowmobiles. Our volunteers work hard to prepare the trail during the off-season. It is very discouraging to see it ripped up. Please, please, if you ride an ATV, stay off the snowmobile trail! And, a reminder to all riders to please respect landowners and only ride in designated areas. By the time this article is posted, we hope to have the trail open again. Our club continually makes improvements to enhance riders’ experience. That’s why we added new restroom facilities (outhouse) to the southern end of the 710 trail. It is located next to the kiosk. We also added a new designated snowmobile trailer parking area in the center of Wardsboro. The lot is located on the left-hand side of South Wardsboro Road, just past the bridge at Route 100. It is for daytime parking only. Since the 710 trail has an 11 p.m. curfew, no overnight parking is allowed. It’s time for our Annual Rescue Ride- In and BBQ! It will be held from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Stratton Rec Area. This event is considered one of the best fundraising events of the winter in Southern Vermont. True to its reputation, there will be great food and great fun for a great cause! Of course we’ll have burgers and hotdogs, plus yummy homemade foods like pulled pork, chowder, chili, meatballs, macaroni and cheese, great desserts, as well as hot and cold beverages. There is a $10 suggested donation. We will also have a 50/50 cash raffle and fantastic raffle prizes including gas cards, winter gear, restaurant certificates, even a 2018 TMA! One hundred percent of the ride-in proceeds benefit Wardsboro Rescue and Rescue Inc. These are the fine folks who will come out on the trail if you need help! Over the years, we have raised more than $24,000 for these organizations! For more information, please visit our website. Visit our website for our club calendar of events. As weather permits, we will organize a variety of group rides. Meet new friends, get involved and think snow!
