Remember, without landowners, our trail system would not go anywhere. The season has got off to a great start in Newark. Trails opened before Christmas and have been great ever since with lots of snow cover. Groomers got out early and our trail system now rates an A+. Our club had a few work days just before the season opened and we did some much needed widening and debrushing on Corridor 114, north of the Jobs Pond access, and it really shows. Thanks to all the club volunteers that came out and helped. The club had great Early Bird TMA numbers and I believe it will turn out to be above last year’s sale numbers. Thanks to all the members who helped with the sales of the TMAs. The riding season hopefully will hold Sno-Flake Ridge Runners We missed last issue, so to catch everyone up to speed, we’ve finished the Greensboro reroute with two years in the making and 1.75 miles covered. It’s a beautiful trail and we give many thanks to members and non-members. A big thank you also to Doug Luther Excavating for the finishing touches. This trail should be a good permanent corridor through Greensboro. With sufficient snow, we rolled our groomer for the first time on Dec. 14 to start packing and checking for down trees to start the season. Since then, our entire system has been groomed. We are eager to bring something new to the community by stepping up our posts on Facebook and event planning. We also have a new design for our club t-shirts and sweatshirts. They are available to buy through Buffalo Mountain Power Sports or our Facebook page. We are looking forward to a snow year of riding and grooming. We’d like to hear your feedback on the trails, so please don’t hesitate to reach out! Randi Hall, Secretary Like us on Facebook Sno-Flake Ride Runners’first groomer run of the year was Dec. 14. Iroquois Snow Beavers If Mother Nature decides to cooperate, we will be ready. Our bridge over Patrick Brook is finished. This project, spanning nearly seven months and 40 feet, was engineered to have a minimal impact on the sensitive flood zone of the Laplatte River and Patrick Brook. A hydraulic engineering analysis, performed by Milone and out for many months with the great base we have all over the state. Get out and enjoy the sport! The season is here and we hope to see you on the trail. Steve Leedy, President newarkezriders.com Like us on Facebook CHITTENDEN COUNTY
