C O M L A N D A I R V T . C O M Jacksonville E-Z Riders After we all waited patiently for the yearly calendar to cycle through a full year, snowmobiling has returned to Southern Vermont. For the first time in many years our trails opened on Dec. 16 with early season conditions. Grooming has been ongoing and we, like many, are in need of more snow but thankful for what we have. Once again, very special thanks go out to Dave and Frank for helping us provide two new intersection signs at WM 21 and WM 6. Our resigning of our trails project has made some great needed improvements and we will continue to do so until it is completed. We would like to welcome and also thank many of our new club members and also needed volunteers, along with our returning members for the 2017 season. As always, none of this would be possible without our Academy ski school. Please do not go across their property to access the Last Chair and West Dover Joe’s. You can access those restaurants by crossing Rte 100 and going across the West Dover Fire Department and through the front of the Snow Goose. Follow the trail markers. The Roadhouse restaurant is now accessible to hungry riders through Boisert’s field and cut through the former Twice Blessed shop. They have a great Sunday brunch for those interested. Other restaurants/pubs that are also accessible via our trail system are the Valley View Saloon, La Toscanella Pizzeria, The Hermitage Inn, The Last Chair and West Dover Joe’s. We remain the best destination area in Southern Vermont with all of these great choices for food. Our Pig Roast is Saturday, March 4. Keep an eye out on our FaceBook page and website for the location and time. Respect the landowners, ride safe and think snow! Brian Harty, Board of Directors dvsj.com Like us on Facebook wonderful and giving landowners who we so appreciate. Club meetings through the winter will be held the first Saturday of the month at the Jacksonville Community Church starting at 6 p.m. Our “Picture Of The Week” photo contest is in full swing this season. With the great riding conditions throughout the state, many photos are being submitted. You can send your trailside pictures to pics@ ezriders.org and please visit our website to view the great entries that are being submitted. Some great things are happening over the next few months and we welcome all to take part in the fun we have planned. Our first club ride for the season will be Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. starting at Cherry Creek Sales in Jacksonville. Come join us for a fun-filled day on our trails. We are also very excited to be holding our ride-in event, Snow Fest 2017. It will be held once again at the Amos Brown House and property. Many local and out-of-town businesses have stepped up and provided a great offering of raffle prizes. Demo rides on
