Call 802-318-7380 or email mike.f@fletcherroughriders.com. We will be selling TMAs at the Fletcher General Store on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. The Early Bird discount ends Dec. 15. Last year, we apparently forgot to order snow so this year we have doubled the order! It takes volunteer time and money to open the trails, regardless of the winter, so please join early. Check our website for more information. Good news! The LVRT will be open this year from Cambridge Junction to Sheldon Junction. It will be marked as Trail 136. Last year, we reopened Trail 36 north of FN81 and connected to the LVRT just east of Fairfield village. This new intersection will be marked as FN80. The Northwest Riders will be grooming to this intersection. We will groom south to the Lost Nation Road. The Smugglers Notch Club will groom north to Lost Nation Road. Gas will be available at Stone’s in East Fairfield. These three clubs have been working on this for two seasons. We are paying for the cost to open this out of our club funds as VAST is not able to fund these temporary improvements. Culverts have been repaired, bridges decked, brush and trees cut plus signage for snowmobiling only has been added. Please note the LVRT is a curfew trail with no snowmobile traffic allowed after 11 p.m. or before 6 a.m. This year’s snowmobile safety class will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Eagles’ Club in Jeffersonville. Class size is limited with pre-registration required by calling instructor Don Fleming at 802-849- 6575. Bring your own lunch. This is a required class for riders 12 years of age or older or if you turn 12 by April 15, 2017. The safety class requirement applies to all riders born after July 1, 1983 regardless if you have a motor vehicle license. There is no cost to take this class. Tony Audet, Vice President fletcherroughriders.com Like us on Facebook Franklin County Snow Raiders The Franklin County Snow Raiders held their November meeting on Nov. 1 at the VFW in St. Albans with approximately 15 members present. TMAs have arrived and they are available locally from Peak Performance and Lake Street Auto on Lake Street in St. Albans. Also, TMAs are available at the St. Albans Bay Store and Champlain Equipment in St. Albans. Trail work has begun in preparation for the upcoming season. As far as I know, there are no real problems this year except one reroute behind the St. Albans Reservoir. In the St. Albans Bay area, lots of trees were downed in summer storms. Thanks to Scott Guptill and his crew, things have been cleared out. The groomer has been moved to
