Rob Hintze was not the randomly chosen winner this time, but we loved his response so much that we just had to share it with you all: “Page 38, on top of cooler, between ketchup and mustard. Hope this season is one to be ‘relished!’” We had 79 entries into the Find The Helmet Contest for the last issue. Can we beat that number for this issue? This new reporting system enables groomers/ clubs to report on the conditions of individual trail sections. If a section of trail is open = green, closed = red or if caution should be used = yellow. The date each trail section was last groomed is also available along with any notes about the trail. This information will correspond directly to the interactive trails map which will provide a visual display based on the colors noted above of which trails are open, closed, or on alert. If groomers/ clubs choose not to participate, their trail sections will simply show up gray in color to indicate there is no trail conditions data. Every Monday, the information will be cleared so that only the latest and greatest information will be shown. No information older than one week will be posted. We are currently working with the groomers by providing them each with their own log in names and passwords, and are working out any issues within the new system. We are hopeful that the majority of the groomers will participate and enable the membership to have fairly detailed trail conditions on a daily basis. Please stay tuned for more information in future issues of the Snowmobile Vermont magazine.
