It makes me think about all those we have lost and miss as well. This also brings to mind our upcoming 50th anniversary and how we may celebrate everyone that does so much for VAST and has done so in the past. As our sport grows older, so do we. As many of you know we have added sections in the Snowmobile Vermont magazine to highlight those amazing people that have meant so much to our sport and are no longer with us. We also think it’s very important to highlight those that are still with us that have also meant and mean so much to snowmobiling in Vermont. I hope you will consider interviewing someone you know for the magazine and tell us all about their lives and contribution to snowmobiling in Vermont. Please contact us at editor@vtvast.org if you would like to submit a story about someone you know. As winter approaches, I am looking forward to getting out to more club events and meeting many of you that volunteer for VAST and do such amazing work. I have spent the summer and fall attending some of these events and it truly makes my heart grow to be so welcome and to feel a part of this great organization. Some of the things I have done this summer and fall include club fundraisers, snowmobile club ATV rides and trail signing. Work at the VAST office includes online TMAs, attending trade shows to promote Vermont with the Snow Traveler’s Guide to Vermont, updating the smartphone trail map app, trails policy changes to better survive no-snow winters, meetings to help clubs became compliant with state and federal laws and much more. There are also now two sections of the LVRT that are complete for all-season recreation. I hope you take time to read the letter by VAST President Tim Mills in this edition. He truly cares about this organization and I found his letter to be inspiring for myself, and I hope you do as well. I wish for you a happy and healthy holiday season and successful snowy winter for all of us. I am so very proud to be a part of this amazing organization.
