Think Snow! Kyle Daley, President canaanborderriders.org Like us of Facebook Lunenburg Polar Bears The snow has already begun to fall! It looks like a great winter is just around the corner. Welcome to Polar Bear Country! This is our 50th Anniversary season. Thanks to our members, friends and the VAST staff that helped with our big commemorative event in September. It was an honor to meet our founding members. A correction for our Snowmobile Vermont featured club article: the first president of the Polar Bears was Bob Martin. Thanks Bob for your historic contribution! The club participated in the Lunenburg Community Group Poker Run in October. Stations were set up by different community organizations at various locations in the area. Members prepared bags to hand out to station visitors that included a gift, information about snowmobiling and an issue of Snowmobile Vermont magazine. Thanks to Brenda, Cathy, Dick and Lynda for helping out at our club station on Pond Hill Road. Members have been out prepping the trails. Bridge repairs are complete. Several reroutes required excavation, including a new bypass on the VAST 2 pipeline. VAST 1 will include shared- road riding this season due to logging. The fleet is operational and ready to hit the trails. Shopping is underway at the online Bearwear Store! Just access the store from our Facebook page or website. We also launched our new YouTube channel. Check out the photo albums on our Facebook page. Contact the club if you wish to share your pictures or videos. TMAs are available at Lunenburg Variety Store. Contact the club for any questions related to the TMA process and pricing. Regarding the snow… just wait. It’s coming! Northeast Kingdom Snow Blasters Hello everyone! What a great weekend we just had. We hosted a well-attended safety course taught by Roger Gosselin, and an awesome Hunter’s Supper as well! Thanks to all who donated their time, food and prizes. Special thanks to Pidgeon Roy for cooking and hosting! We are very busy now prepping and signing the trails and the Old Bully! As I write this, there are 31 days left to opening day! Some more events for you to save the date for are our Poker Run at the Chez on Jan. 14 and our annual BBQ to held at the Poker Palace this year on Feb. 18. See you all soon! David Diminico, Trails Coordinator & Groomer northeastkingdomsnowblasters.com Like us on Facebook Fletcher Rough Riders Two work days have allowed us to inspect most of our trails. There were no major changes this year, but many of you were not aware we reopened a portion of Trail 36 last year. We have spent over $13,000 on the Tucker to replace two tracks and some bearings. We are also paying for some mowing and sign updates. Signs are being installed with about 100 of the 1,000 we have to install in place. The Fletcher General Store is open again, with gas and some food available, but they are not selling TMAs.
