around 2,500 miles this season and
am grateful for every one. To our
volunteers and riders: thank you for
making this winter so awesome. Hard
work truly pays off! Peyton and her
Dad were excited to find BuzzBee on
Sno-Bees trails. Riders enjoying the

Well folks, it turned out to be some
great riding on our trails this season.
Hopefully you came up through
and experienced the result of many
volunteer grooming hours. The club
logged more grooming miles than it
has in many years. Granted, the riding
window was a bit short, having ended
just prior to me writing this article.
I mention volunteer hours because
that is what it takes. Lots of them!
Thinking ahead to this summer and
trail maintenance, we will be looking
for a few extra hands. Plans are to
keep widening and flattening the trails
where we can.
Based on the many compliments the
club received online and on Facebook,
our riders were extremely happy and
understand the hard work put into
revamping and maintaining the trail
system.

How about coming out and lending
a hand this summer? Many of
our volunteers end up with a free
Volunteer TMA because of the hours
put into the upkeep. Interested? Send a
message via Messenger and we will let
you know of our plans and dates.
A shout out to our surrounding clubs.
The energy, camaraderie and offers
to lend a hand make VAST a great
organization to be a part of!

This has been a winter to remember.
The conditions were perfect for
keeping the big snows we had (single-
digit temps) and made for some great
riding right outside our doors!
The months of trail repairs and
improvements paid off with the best
riding we have had in years. Now
spring is attacking and the snow is
vanishing almost like magic. So we
move forward with our Appreciation
Dinner and start planning for this
year’s trail work.
I would like to thank assistant
trailmaster Shane Sage and his
grooming crew for keeping trails in
good condition. I would also like to
thank Fred, Shane’s brother, for his
help fabricating a new snow packing
device which got us going in the deep
snow this season. Without it we could
not have done as good a job as we did.
I’m certain he will continue to be a big
asset to our grooming efforts. Now it’s
time to break out the fishing gear and
boats as we wait for the ice to go out.
In the meantime, we hope everyone
had a great snowmobile season and
begin plans for next season.

March brought a mixed bag of weather
that, unfortunately, curtailed much of
our snowmobiling activity this season.
Even so, we are truly grateful for the
significant snowfall we did receive and
the opportunities it provided.
We extend a sincere thank you to all of
our volunteers. Our trail coordinator
and grooming crew demonstrated
outstanding commitment, keeping
our trails safe, open and in some
of the best riding conditions we’ve
seen in years. We also appreciate the
dedication of our executive board for
their leadership, guidance and event
planning efforts.
A special thank you goes out to our
VAST members who chose to support
our club through their TMA purchases,
as well as to everyone who contributed
their time, donations and support to
our events. These combined efforts
continue to help our club thrive.
Most importantly, we would like
to recognize our landowners. Their
generosity and continued support are
the foundation of everything we do
— without them, our trails would not
exist.
As maple sugaring season gets
underway, our snowmobiling season
comes to a close. Please stay connected
with us for upcoming events, meetings
and opportunities to get involved. We
are always looking for fresh ideas and
new volunteers.
Jacksonville E-Z Riders hosted a different
kind of fundraiser this year; Bingo Night!
