Corinth Sno-Scramblers
The Corinth Sno-Scramblers wrapped
up one of the best seasons in recent
memory, with great snow, steady
grooming, and great trail conditions.
While it may have ended a bit earlier
than we would’ve liked, it was
excellent while it lasted.
Our annual Hot Dog Roast on
February 14 turned out to be the
most successful and well-attended
event we’ve had to date. Riders from
near and far rode in by snowmobile
and car to support the club as our
sole fundraiser for the year. The
ORANGE
COUNTY
Treasurer/secretary Jeff Porter and
myself had the pleasure of hosting
Vermont Public Radio to our trails.
The show’s host and producer joined
us on a stellar Friday morning to learn
about our club, the history of VAST
and the former Rutland Railroad
that makes up a portion of our trail
system.
Like riding a bicycle, you can’t just
talk about snowmobiling without
actually getting out and going for a
ride. Thank you to June Lantry and
Bill Wetherbee for lending their sleds
to make this happen. We got our 15
minutes of fame on the air, but more
importantly, we continued a pattern of
sharing our passion with new people.
I have met riders on our trails, which
is encouraging to see that they are
being used. Many of our trail section
captains report in when they ride.
They often stop to perform trail
maintenance as they go.
As always, the success of our club
relies directly on the efforts of the
volunteers. That being said, there are
a good number of people out there
having a good winter season because
of our efforts.

turnout during the snowy day was
a perfect reminder of what makes
snowmobiling in Vermont so great
-good trails, good food, and great
conversation.
On the grooming front, we had the
most consistent grooming of the past
six years thanks to our dedicated
groomer operators. Our 1994 Tucker
SnoCat ran well all season as Bob
Thody and Paul Osgood logged
many hours behind the wheel. Their
Corinth Sno-Scramblers officers and
members posed with the club’s 1994
Tucker Sno-Cat at their Annual Hot Dog
Roast on Feb. 14.
