Ferrisburg Sledheads
As Mud Season sets upon us,
the Ferrisburgh Sledheads want to give
a huge shout-out to all our volunteers,
adults and youth! Without their
tireless efforts, we would not have
enjoyed an AWESOME riding season
in the Champlain Valley. We hope
all those riders that hit our Addison
county trails enjoyed the signage and
grooming. With a limited number of
folks, we coordinated closely with our
county and local neighboring clubs to
ensure the best riding experience!
For the second year in a row, we hit
the road for the Sledheads Weenie
Ride. With the event held and hosted
at Spruce Lodge in South Lincoln,
we enjoyed a great winter day and
provided free hot dog meal to any
and all riders. Riders from Salisbury,
Vergennes, and neighboring Clubs
made the trip, with about 35 sleds
rolling through to enjoy a warm fire,
hearty hot dog meal, and plenty of
laughter. All donations from the day
were saved to help in the effort to
replace Lewis Creek Bridge. Please join
us next year as we continue to grow
the fun event.
As stated, and despite coordinated
efforts, we were still unable to repair
the washed-out bridge over Lewis
Creek. We continue to work with
county and state VAST officials, as well
as neighboring clubs, to come up with
a safe and enduring solution on this
much-desired north/south trail. From
the Sledheads: We look forward to
seeing you all on our trails next season!
