Lunenburg Polar Bears
Snowmobile Club, Inc.
Yes, the door slammed shut on our
winter fun in March. But the weeks
prior will be remembered as one of
the best snowmobiling seasons in
recent memory. Welcome to Polar Bear
Country!
Club volunteers were running on
all cylinders ensuring our trails and

community groups. Thanks to our
landowners for making all of this
possible - we continue to work hard
to keep the trails and land in good
shape for not only snowmobiling
but other uses as allowed depending
on the season. And finally, thanks
to the membership/volunteers that
have made the Snow Beavers such a
successful club! We appreciate your
hours of work behind the scenes,
your TMA purchases, and your
representation of safe riding and
stewardship of the land we ride on!

Brighton Snowmobile Club
Greetings from the Brighton
Snowmobile Club. Although the list of
open trails is dwindling, we have had
about 3 full months of riding. Trails
have been open since December 16th
continuously. It takes an army to keep
it all going at times, but we have a
great group that sticks to it. One of the
keys to the trails this year was the rock
hard base that we got at the beginning
of the season. Very cold temps in the
early season were the biggest help.
Logging and a federal bridge project
cut off a couple of trails, but sometimes
it is just “your turn” to have closures.
In general, the NEK had more trails,
as Canaan who is our neighbor has
suffered for a few years and this year
were able to reopen a bunch of miles.
Speaking of neighbors, we enjoy a
great relationship with our NEK clubs.
There can be friendly joking, but the
fact is rarely when help is needed, it
happens seamlessly.
The NEK is sparsely populated, but
when help is needed for a sled accident
with injury, it is amazing how quick
and well the responders jump into
action. It is almost like they are in the
fire dept with the engine running. The
places we go on our sleds are remote,
to say the least, and we know that
comes with the sport. Thanks to those
men and women.
Our March fundraiser was greeted
with a rainy forecast. Moving it inside
went seamlessly and we had a full
house. The Brighton American Legion
facility worked great. Thanks so much
to all that made it happen. See our
events report for all the details.

We extend a special shout-out to
Beattie Enterprises of Lancaster New

intense construction spanned ten
