42 | Snowmobile VERMONT Club News WINDSOR COUNTY Andover Mountaineer Snow Riders Per usual, September ushers in the start of getting our season game face on! The summer has been busy for everyone, and we’re working hard to get our trails in top form for this winter. We will continue to have work bees most weekends until the white stuff starts flying. Volunteers are always welcome, old or new, so if you find yourself in the area with time on your hands, feel free to come join us! We will keep our work dates posted on our Facebook page, so make sure to keep an eye out for those. We are looking forward to our upcoming annual events. First up is our Pancake Breakfast and Blessing of the Season, set for Dec. 8 at the Andover Town Hall. Cost is a donated item (non-perishable food or personal hygiene items) to be donated to the Chester-Andover Family Center. It’s a great way to meet up with the locals as well as members of various clubs - and the food is always delicious! We will also be providing last minute Early Bird TMAs there, too. The second event is our Pasta Dinner and Blind Auction, with our monthly meeting to follow, the evening of Jan. 5. All are welcome to come out and enjoy a great dinner and fun times at the auction. This will also be held at the Andover Town Hall. So be sure to pencil us in on your calendars! Our upcoming club meetings in November and December will be held on the first Tuesday of the month, locations TBD closer to the dates. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome to do so. Let’s get our snow dance on for a great sledding season. We’ll see you out on the trails! This fall, our trail cleanup weekends will be in late October and early November. Dates will be posted on our website, Facebook page and in our newsletter. The season will be here before we know it. Think snow… lots and lots of snow! Karen Marini, Secretary cavendishsnowfleas.com Like us on Facebook Chester Snowmobile Club Our first official trail work day of the season was on Sept. 8. The reason I say “official” is because many folks have been out all summer clearing trails. With 60 miles to maintain, debrushing cannot be completed in just one or two work days or by just a few volunteers. Teams headed out in a variety of directions to continue opening up trails. One team was on sign patrol putting up intersection signs, shoring up sign posts and securing broken signs. September is an especially busy month getting ready for the upcoming season in time to get out of the woods prior to hunting season. VAST’s Annual
