It is looking like we will have a logging operation on our trail system and we are still working out the details with those involved, so please stay tuned for that. I am sure our TMA guru Sonia will be letting you know how you can purchase your TMAs or join our club soon also. We also attended the VAST Annual Meeting and would like to congratulate all of the award winners, including our own Koehler family. Sonia, our treasurer, her husband Mike and two children Ethan and Cassie received the “Snowmobile Family of the Year” award from VAST. Please stay tuned for details of our annual first snowfall of the year contest coming soon. Let the temps drop and the snow fall! ORANGE COUNTY Corinth Sno-Scramblers Happy fall to all of our fellow snowmobile enthusiasts! As I write this article, we are starting to see overnight temperatures that are close to freezing and the leaves are well into changing colors. It sure has been a busy late summer and fall since we updated everyone last. In late August, we started working on our pre-season checklist for the groomer. Besides the usual changing of fluids and filters on our Tucker Sno-Cat, we have done some extensive work on the tracks. Last year, the worn-out tracks prevented us from grooming some sections of our trails at times due to icy conditions. Hopefully, with these new tracks and repairs of other components of them, that will not happen again this year. In addition to the tracks, we have also replaced the exhaust manifold gasket. Most all of these repairs have been completed by our very dedicated volunteers and officers. A special thanks to Phil Garran, Bob Thody, Jeff Slack, and Jonathon Conway. Other items on our list that we have been working on this fall are bridge and culvert repairs. Our largest bridge project is the bridge on Corridor 25 near Tenney Road. This bridge could not have been completed without the use of the beams from VT DOT and VAST. The culverts being replaced are on Corridor 5 near the old Crossroads Trading Post store. Of course, we continue to work on our annual debrushing and clearing of trails as we do every fall. New for this season, we have some new Corinth Sno-Scrambler apparel available. In addition to our t-shirts, we will now have hooded and crew neck sweatshirts, as well as fitted FlexFit hats with our original patches on them. These are a limited supply, so be sure to get yours before they all sell out. Be sure to keep in touch with our Facebook page and website (updated with a new look this summer) for more information on our apparel, trail work days, and all Sno-Scramblers news in the coming weeks. Think snow! Kim Davis, Webmaster snoscramblers.org Like us on Facebook ORLEANS COUNTY Orleans Snowstormers I guess the hot summer weather is finally coming to an end as cooler temps now prevail. Daylight is becoming shorter, and fall foliage season is now upon us. We have been busy preparing for the upcoming snowmobile season. Landowner permission, repairing bridges and other trail work needs to be done before Dec. 16. No doubt the microburst that went through Irasburg in late summer has caused tree damage on our section of trails there. Our 24th Annual Give Away is Oct. 20, and we still need to get groomer and drags ready. Whew! Sure could use some help! Call us if you can give us a hand or watch our face-book for work dates. At the VAST Annual Meeting on Sept. 15, our club president, Raymond Rodrigue, was awarded 2018 County Trails Coordinator of the Year. Besides his many commitments with the Snowstormers, Raymond is also the VAST Orleans county trails coordinator. It is wonderful to be part of an organization like VAST that does so much to recognize the efforts of its volunteers. Orleans Snowstormers memberships and TMAs will once again be available at Bob’s Quick Stop in Irasburg or from our secretary Gloria at 802-334-6179. You may also download membership form and info from our website and mail it in. Membership and TMAs will be mailed back within 10 days. There is also the VAST online TMA option that is easy and quick. We also plan to have Early Bird TMA sales days Dec. 1–2 and 8–9. Tentative location is the Orleans Village Pizza, 1–5 p.m. Watch our social media, local ads, and events webpage for confirmation of event location as time approaches, or simply call Gloria. Want a good reason to join the Orleans Snowstormers? We will give away one voucher for a 2020 Early Bird TMA and
