Poultney Valley Snowmobile Devils, Inc. We had a good summer and are looking forward to a fall of debrushing, bridge repairs, and other trail work. The Poultney Valley Snow Devils were very successful and sold out of food at East Poultney Day on Aug. 11. Shrewsbury Sno-Birds Summer is still hanging on here in Rutland County. The first day of fall is only six days away and it looks like we might see some relief as of tomorrow. The Sno-Birds trails, for the most part, have all been brush-cut with a tractor and cutter bar thanks to my dad. He has been doing this for many years. I go with him in an ATV with tools and hand brush cutters to do as much as I can with the high things and help Bill Lohsen and his grandson Riley, Angelo Tedesco, Lindy Dolan, Chris Kapusta, Scott Ryan and Dave Fucci helped with the Shrewsbury Snobirds’Jeffords State Forest bridge project. snowmobiling and the variables it involves. All that said, we still have a new groomer as a goal as soon as it is fiscally feasible. Don’t wait to get your sleds ready to go with complete maintenance front to back. If you would rather have the pros do it and get it done right, we recommend our good friends at Central Vermont Motorcycles. See Jeremy, Aaron or Dominic for a great deal on a new or used sled including Ski Doo, Arctic Cat, Polaris and now Yamaha. While you’re there, don’t forget to pick up your Chittenden Dammers TMA! The next meeting is at the Mountain Top Inn Tavern at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Charlie Robbins, Treasurer chittendendammers.org Like us on Facebook We had a fundraiser at East Poultney Day.
