Personally I have been extremely busy both at home and for VAST, it seems like the list of chores and obligations never end. I once asked a good friend who had recently retired how he was enjoying his retirement? He said ya know Tim, I don’t know how I ever got it all done before and the to-do list seems to grow more than shrink. At the time I didn’t see how that was possible but I didn’t challenge him on his answer and here I find myself several years older and I am more able to relate to his summation. Aside from my daily obligations, VAST is very similar, the list seems to grow more than shrink and this year was no different. This year’s monthly VAST Board of Directors meetings have carried a full agenda with varied topics. Among those were possible TMA changes, LVRT, trail policy manual updates, personnel policy, grooming contract changes, just to name a few. Also this year we saw the worst snowfall that I can remember. But even though we had little to no snow it took hundreds of volunteers to sign the trails to get them ready for the season and take them down after the season ended. And then there were the events that went on to fundraise for clubs. A special thank you to those of you that volunteered your time, to those of you that drove instead of rode to events to support clubs and to all of you that bought a TMA to support the entire association, not just to ride the trails. I have enjoyed serving this organization as President this past year, it has not come without challenges but I wouldn’t change a thing. Hopefully I will see you all at annual meeting this year which is always a great time to catch up with old friends and to make new ones. Ride safely and smooth trails!
