GRANTS – USDA
USDA grants are available as equipment grants for every club in Vermont. These USDA grants are called Rural Cooperative Development Grants.
RCDG grants are due to the USDA office no later than April 15, at 4:30pm.
In 2015 they had $154,000 of money to give to Vermont counties not in a REAP Zone and they had $641,000 worth of requests. The most they will give for an equipment grant in these non-REAP zones is $100,000, but this year they are telling folks to limit their requests to $30,000 because there is not enough money to go around.
For 2016 the pot of money in REAP zones is 1.8 million and their max individual grants are $100,000-$250,000 and up per year.
REAP Zones in Vermont are only in the following counties: Orleans, Caledonia and Essex.
