Green Mountain Roamers (Waterbury) - Club History

Founded in 1973, Green Mountain Roamers is a snowmobile club based out of Waterbury, Vermont. In 1993 we completed what became known as the "Winooski Wonder Bridge" over the Winooski River connecting us to our neighboring club to the south. This bridge quickly became not only a highly coveted North-South connector trail, but also an attraction for snowmobilers. At 337 feet in length, it was known to be the longest snowmobile suspension bridge in the world at the time and crossing it was quite the experience. Unfortunately, nearly 30 years later, the river and flooding have caused the bridge to be closed for the time being.

Thank you to all our officers, volunteers, and of course landowners over the many years. This club would not be in existence today if it wasn't for you.
