Cavendish Green Mountain Snow Fleas As the season comes to a close, we want to take the opportunity to say thank you to the Cavendish and Proctorsville landowners who so generously allow us the privilege of using their land for our trails. We sold a record number of Early Bird TMAs and registered 81 sleds whose owners are new to our club. Thank you to our members for their support and for recommending our club to their family and friends. Finally, we want to acknowledge and thank Brian and Kim Villa of Snow Country Snowmobile Tours who sold 55 TMAs and four 3-Day passes for us! Our membership has grown each year over the past three years and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support we receive from our landowners, members and the Villas. Even though the warm weather hurt trail conditions, our Cook Shack did a great business thanks to VAST Trails Administrator Matt Tetreault. Matt included our Cook Shack in his article on places to ride. We lost count of the number of folks who said they read about us in Snowmobile Vermont. Matt, if you come to the Cook Shack, lunch is on the Snow Fleas! Our group took part in Chester’s Valentine’s Day Bonfire Ride hosted by Robyn and Lee Whiting. This is a wonderful event that is already penciled into our club calendar for next year! One idea we are considering for the off-season is a snowmobile swap and tag sale. As the plan comes together, we will post info on our website and the VAST website. This season was definitely much better than last year. Though like everyone else, we wish Mother Nature had saved some of the warm weather for late April instead of late February. Karen Marini, Secretary cavendishsnowfleas.com Like us on Facebook Chester Snowmobile Club Well, we certainly cannot call this a brown winter here in Chester, as we have been very lucky to receive great snow early this season and our groomers have been very busy keeping our trails well groomed. However, as I write this at the end of February, we just had 10 days with over 50 degree temps, some rain and no overnight freezing. Hopefully, that is just a blip and snow and cold are not far behind, but the forecast for Southern Vermont does not look promising. As safety should be forefront for every rider, this season we installed emergency 911 location signs at all road crossings. These signs include the name of the road as well as the 911 location number to be used in case of an emergency, which we hope will seldom be needed. We worked with
