Grill chefs Doug Divis, Keith Carr, Bernie Begin and Brian Brewer kept the hot dogs and burgers coming hot and fresh all afternoon. Many people came to show their support and enjoy a great meal. (Stacey Bleile photos) By Stacey Bleile The 32nd Annual Very Special People Ride was held on Feb. 11. At this event, we invite persons with special needs, their family and caregivers for an afternoon of snowmobile rides and lunch. Guests can either ride on the back with a SnoBuster volunteer or be towed in a pull-behind sled. The event is held on Gene and Jeanne McKenna’s property in Woodford. Gene’s father, Jack, was a club founder. When Jack passed away, they allowed the SnoBusters to continue to use the property and eventually became the co-chairs of the ride. Law enforcement represented at this event were Dover, Bennington, Wilmington and Winhall Police Departments, Vermont State Police and Vermont Fish and Game. This event is much anticipated by both the participants and the volunteers and is always a very enjoyable day!
