Fall 2017 | 39 Club News and ready to go for this winter. On the trail end of things, we have been working hard to make sure that all the trails are de-brushed and signs are up for this season. We have had to replace a couple of damaged signs for this year. At this time, we do not have any major trail projects to complete. There is one bridge that does need some work, but it is not anticipated to be a complete overhaul. The Tucker Sno-Cat is having some pre-season work done to it. In addition to the fluids being changed already, we are working on replacing the cleats and sprockets on the tracks. For a 1994, it is in good condition and ready to roll out the white carpet trails for you this season. At our meeting in August, we had some role changes within the club and some new officers elected for this year. Our new secretary is Glenn McKinley and our groommasters will be Phil Garren and Jeff Slack with the assistance of Paul Osgood. Paul Osgood is our vice president, Ron Garvin is our treasurer/membership chair, and Kim Davis is our webmaster. Topsham Ridge Runners The fall weather is already upon us and we are in motion with projects for the upcoming season. We have already been in touch with land owners, washouts have already been filled in some areas, and notes made of problem areas to address. Preparations are being made for our landowner picnic and we look forward to seeing everyone again this year. For the upcoming season, with the help of VAST, we have taken on the largest project in our clubs history. In total we have roughly one mile of trail that needs to be improved with a combination of culverts, stone, new and improved drainage as well as a new bridge. Many hands make light work and we are thankful for our dedicated group of volunteers that make it all happen. Our club had another milestone this year as we received our first award from VAST for best signed rails. We are proud of what we have accomplished and hope to continue to raise the bar! Please check our Facebook page as we will announce trail work days, updates, and other events. We would love to have you join us! We cannot thank our landowners and volunteers enough for making the trails possible. Remember, it is never too early to start those snow dances and start thinking snow!
