We pulled the old wooden bridge out with an excavator and dropped in a new steel framed bridge with a wooden deck. A big thank you to all our volunteers who came out and helped us that weekend. Keep checking our Facebook page and the club website for updates on when we will be performing trail projects. As Father Time catches up with some members of our volunteer crew, we’re starting to need some younger volunteers. We would like to get a volunteer roster together to contact every time we have a project to do in the fall. The Buckaroos award 13 free TMAs to volunteers every fall, so if you would like to receive a free TMA, please contact us. We will have plenty to do this fall as we get ready for the season. Signs and flags need to go up, bridges need to be repaired, and the never-ending cycle of brushwork needs to be accomplished. The days are getting colder and we’re hoping there will be some snowflakes in the air soon. Hope to see you all on the trails! As always, be safe, respect the landowner’s property, and please don’t litter our beautiful trails. Kevin McDonnell, Vice President Taylor Lamberton, Secretary buckaroosof302.com Like us on Facebook Lyndon Sno-Cruisers As our club is ready to enter the fall season, we are wondering what we accomplished during the summer. We have begun checking trails that so far appear to be in good shape considering all of the showers that we had. The volunteers are working with Danny Hale and the VASA group to redeck a bridge on Piperville Rd (trail 513). At the same time we redeck the bridge we will fill in 3 washed areas in the trail. Some of the materials for the project are being donated by club member Al Robertson. This project will have been completed on Sept. 16. A second bridge project we were scheduled to do was completed by landowner Leslie Ham who did a fine job redecking that bridge. Thank You, Leslie Ham of Sheffield. Another activity our volunteers completed was building a float to have in the Sheffield Labor Day parade. This float focused on thanking the area business who generously support the Lyndon Sno-Cruisers. Three delegates, Pres. Ken Thorpe, Sec. Larry Dwyer, and member Rod Dwyer attended VAST Annual Meeting held on Sept. 9. Looking forward, our club is supporting the county-wide snowmobile safety class being held at Lyndon Town School cafeteria on Dec. 9 from 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Lyndonville House of Pizza again this year. To register call Ben Robinson at 748-1413 or Larry Dwyer at 754-9385. The Lyndon State College Snowmobile Club is scheduling their second Ride- It To Win-It event on Feb. 3. More information will be in the next issue and on the VAST website. Our club helps the college club host this event. After this event the Lyndon Sno- Cruisers will hold their annual Poker Run with a tentative date of Feb. 17. More information about the event will be in the next issue. The shiny blue snowmobiles will say good bye for now as they remind everyone to begin updating landowner permissions.
