He joined the Long Hill Snowmobile Club in the late 60s when he could be seen riding a SnowJet. The following year after joining the club, he bought himself a brand new Artic Cat and these days if you see him on the trails, he is riding a Ski-Doo. During his years with the club, he previously held the office of president for the Long Hill Club and trails coordinator for Windsor county. He still is actively involved with grooming, debrushing, and excavator work on trails. Wally also helps with the service and maintenance of the equipment. When speaking with him, he is truly passionate about the sport and the club. He has lots of history he likes to share and speaks enthusiastically of the good friends and great memories that have been created over the years. Wally is presented his award at the Windsor County meeting by Dennis Lemire, Windsor county president. He grew up in Cabot and has been a very active member in the Hardwick Sno-Flake Ridge Runners snowmobile club for over 35 years. He has given countless hours of time to keep the trails in the area open. He is a person who always shows up no matter what the job is, ready to work and many times with his own equipment! In the past, he has held the officer position of secretary for the Hardwick Sno-Flake Ridge Runners club. He continues to do a lot behind the scenes and helps with anything that help is needed for. Most of the time he just gets things done for the club without even being asked, such as debrushing, cutting, trimming, etc. It’s guys like Dave that are few and far between. He gives so much time to the sport. The Hardwick Sno-Flake Ridge Runners consider themselves very lucky and very thankful to have him as part of their club. The entire crew appreciates him so much and this is just a small token of a thank you to Dave!
