The answer was “Yes” if you took the time to check out the Newport Centennial Celebration. The entire downtown and waterfront district rolled out the red carpet for thousands of guests. Nearby Gardner Park was packed with vendors, family activities and displays. It was the perfect opportunity for the Orleans County Snowmobile Association to showcase Vermont snowmobiling. Clubs throughout the county transported their grooming units to the site. Each massive machine was in pristine condition and exemplified meticulous upkeep. A battalion of PistenBullys and Tuckers along with the Snow Stormer’s Prinoth provided an impressive backdrop at the Park. Gloria and Raymond Rodrigue welcomed guests with a hearty smile, personalized tour of the machines and offered everyone county maps and association T-shirts. “The kids seemed to want to jump into the Prinoth,” said County Director Roger Gosselin. VAST volunteers made it happen on a hot summer weekend... and it was totally cool. GROOMERS DISPLAYED AT NEWPORT CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION Gloria and Raymond Rodrigue provided information about snowmobiling and how trails are groomed to many visitors.
