b'Club EventsVERMONT STATE FAIR 3RD ANNUAL SNOWMOBILE FESTIVALBy Andrea Hathaway-MiglorieThe Vermont State Fairs 3rd Annual Snowmobile Festival was held at the Vermont State Fairgrounds at 175 South Main Street in Rutland on Feb.19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.The shows major sponsor was Central Vermont Motorcycles and secondary sponsor was Boladon Motor Sports. Class trophies for years as well as larger trophies for Peoples Choice, Judges Choice/Best in Show, Most Sleds Displayed, Farthest distance traveled and Oldest Sled were awarded.Over 90 Vintage and newer models were on display! Dave Fucci generously managed the snow to save it for our parade. He and the High Ledge Snow Stormers groomer worked the snow on Saturday to make it great for our riders! Volunteer judges were Mark Quesnel, Randy Bettis, Ernie Atwood, Chris Cone, Gary Dubeau, Ted Sheloski, Rob Warrell, Carl Bostrom, Lonna Kantorski, Christie Davis and Adrian Sanford-Wilson. Snowmobiles were able to ride around the historic oval race track throughout the day. There was a parade at noon and trophies were awarded at 1:30 p.m. Displaying, riding and/or just looking at the snowmobiles was free and open to the public. Exhibitor and spectator estimates were well over 400 enthusiasts throughout the day!A lunch food concession was offered by the High Ledge Snow Stormers Snowmobile Club of Proctor. Fresh kettle corn was being made and sold onsite by Lee and Deb Perry from The Barn at White Rocks in Wallingford.The Fair hopes that the show will continue to grow each year!
