b'Club Eventsrutland state fair SnowMobile FestivalBy Andrea Hathaway-Miglorie The Vermont State Fairs 1st Annual Snowmobile Festival was held at the Vermont State Fairgrounds at 175 South Main Street in Rutland on Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Vermont State Fair was host and all of the beautiful trophies were sponsored by Central Vermont Motorcycles! More than 70 Vintage and newer models were on display! Dave Fucci generously offered everyone rides in his fully restored 1948 Bombardier B-12 Snow Bus. Volunteer Judges were Bruce Turco, Dave and Sue Priest, Mark Quesnel, Randy Bettis, Louie McNeil and Sharon McNeil. A large and colorful snowmobile Parade took to the historic oval race track at 12:30-1:30 p.m. Bringing and riding snowmobiles was free and open to the public all day as part of the first day of the Rutland Winterfest. Trophies and ribbons were handed out at 1:30 p.m. Entering snowmobiles was free and so was admission. Crowd estimates were well over 250 enthusiasts throughout the day!Free sugar on snow was provided by Rutland County Maple Producers. Door prizes were donated by Swiss Farm Inn, ProCycle, Advanced Auto Parts, SE Smith and Peg and Tom DeNicola. A breakfast and lunch food concession was offered by the Wind Riders 4-H Club of Rutland. Lee and Deb Perry from The Barn at White Rocks made and sold fresh kettle corn.
