b'Club EventsTravis Mercy Skatepark FundraSierTHUNDER CHICKENS Poker RunFebruary 22 - BarreBy Dave RouleauOn Feb. 22, working with the Mercy family, we hosted the 20th Annual Travis Mercy Skate Park Fundraiser. For the first time in many years, the trail conditions were in our favor, and the temperatures were perfect for the poker run itself. We had well over 50 sleds meandering the Thunder Chickens trails and visiting the many convenient stores that support our trail system and sell our TMAs. We also took a spin out Washington way to enjoy their trails and space out our arrival time for the meal and silent auction. Randy Henry and the Racing Chefs again prepared the meal, volunteer-ing their time for the cause of feeding more than 100 hungry snowmobilers and friends and family of the skate park. Grams annual quilt raffle was won by Marie Laprade, and one of the younger riders, Lucas Bradley, took home the 50/50 from the poker run, coming in with the best poker hand of the group. Lucas donated back half of his winnings to the park to a round of applause from an appreciative group. When all is tallied up, it appears we will be donating over $5,400 to the Town of Barre for the skate park.(Beth Flint photos)14 | Snowmobile VERMONT'
