b'VAST DirectionBy VAST Executive Director Cindy Locke VERMONT ASSOCIATIONWe just experienced another strange winter with lots of starts and stops. This kind of winter only adds to the amount of time volunteers spend maintaining trails and machines. I am grateful for each volunteer that gives their precious time to VAST by volunteering for their club and county. Its mind-boggling how much goes into being boots-on-the-ground volunteers. Your commitment to getting everything ready, maintaining trails during the season, and then getting everything packed up in the spring is simply staggering. I am always thinking about each of you and again, I am so very grateful for you! Most riders have no idea what each of you does. I know so many of you, and I know how hard you work at volunteering to support snowmobiling in Vermont. And its not all trail work. There are the landowner connections, the management of the club and county, the fundraising events, fixing machines, grooming, social media, teaching safety classes, attending meetings and much more. I hope others read this and are inspired to reach out to help you. Please, if you are not a volunteer, consider doingThank You,it. Reach out to your club and learn more about what they need. Its also a great way to share your talents whileVAST Volunteers!meeting new friends who also love snowmobiling in Vermont.Joining more than one club also shows a lot of support.
