b'Club Newsready to ride. The snow is here already, so maybe this will be a great snowmobiling winter! At our October meeting, we elected officers, approved the treasurers annual report, approved the bylaws, and made the decision that club dues remain at $20. Elected officers are President Don McManus; Vice President Dan Lyman; Treasurer and Secretary Celena McManus; Directors Huey Cadiuex, Gary Rupe, and Tim Richards; and Trail Coordinator Tim Loomis. Thanks to all of you for being there for our club. Our groomer machines are ready to go with some new, younger operators this year. For as many years as I can remember, Barry Bradley and Tom Collutti have run our groomers. Tom has moved to Pennsylvania, and Barry is feeling his age and letting the younger crew carry the torch for a while. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for all the years of dedicated service and the opportunity I had to ride shot gun occasionally with them. I am not quite sure of all the names of those who are stepping up to the grooming challenge, but by next news we should know. I hope all the snowmobilers out there appreciate the long hours and hard work the groomers do so that we have those nice trails to ride on. By the time you read this, we will have taught a snowmobile safety course on Dec. 7 and, hopefully, will have some new club members! Remember, anyone born after July 1, 1983 must take a safety course to ride on VAST trails. As we begin this snowmobile season, let us all thank and respect the landowners who open their gates and allow us to use their property so we are able to experience the beauty of winter on their land. Also, thanks to all the VAST clubs and volunteers who maintain the trails. We will be posting our calendar of events for the season, so check our Facebook, website, and the VAST club events page for our upcoming events.Ernie Dematties, Media Manager Like us on FacebookEarly Winter 2019 | 33'
