b'VAST NewsA message from VAST President Jeff Fayof what the weather may be. The TMA money is a large part of the operating budget for the association. Approximately 72% of all TMA money goes back to the clubs in some way, with the big-ticket item being grooming. The charts show the breakdown of where that TMA money gets allocated within the budget. General Fund covers office operating expenses, Trails Fund covers grooming, signs, maps, insurance, etc.I hope this helps to explain why refunds arent an option, VAST is about trails and thats where TMA dollars go.I look forward to seeing some of you at this years annual meeting hosted by Windham county. Enjoy the off season, relax, stay safe, spend quality As this is being scribbled (lateBeyond that, there are the normaltime with your family and March), there is snow in theseasonal preparations, signing,friends.forecast. Weve heard thatbrushing, planning for club events, before, but not nearly enoughetc. that happen every fall regardlessJeff Fay, this season. Mother NatureVAST President has dealt us another poor hand of conditions for this year. Our clubs, which have been lucky enough to have had the white gold, managed miracles to provide at least some riding within the state. Hats off to them and a huge, Thank you, well done! When the weather doesnt cooperate and the season is less than expected, the expenses for the clubs and the association still exist. Often, I hear or read the comment, VAST should refund my TMA money. Unfortunately, thats not the way the deal works. This is a weather dependent sport, and no one can control the elements. Clubs have spent endless hours rebuilding trails and bridges from the summer and fall floods. Again, we have no control over Mother Nature. 4 | Snowmobile VERMONT'
