b'VAST NewsLUDLOW & CAVENDISH CLUBS COMBINE THEIR EVENTSBy Patty Companik Early season conditions werent exactly what we all wanted. This caused clubs to adjust plans accordingly. The Ludlow Side Hill Cronchers had to cancel their initial date for the Sled Safety Checks due to trail conditions. Instead of rescheduling the event for the following weekend, which a neighboring club was already scheduled to host a fundraising event, they reached out to that club with an idea. If both clubs had held their events that day separately, this would have split the sled traffic as riders would have needed to decide which event, they would support that day. President of the Cronchers, John Murphy, reached out to president of the Snow Fleas, Joe Marini, and asked, Why dont we do one event for both clubs that day? Clubs working together to help benefit each other is a win for all membership. On Feb. 3, the Cavendish GM Snow Fleas held their Valentines Day Ride-in and the Ludlow Side Hill Cronchers held their Sled Safety check together at the Cavendish Cook Shack. There were officers from both clubs present, and other neighboring clubs, Chester Snowmobile Club and Hawks Mtn club officers also came over to support the event that day. VAST Executive Director Cindy Locke joined us with several folks she was riding with that day. Angel (Tim Mills life partner) also came by to say hello.
