14 | Snowmobile VERMONT The Connecticut Valley Sno-Riders Club of Guildhall are pleased to announce that over 225 people stopped by The Roost camp on Corridor 1 in Ferdinand to participate in the club’s annual meal and 50/50 raffle fundraiser. This was our biggest turnout ever! Thanks go out to everyone that stopped by. Each year Bob and Carolyn Godbout, co-owners of The Roost, graciously host this annual fundraiser. They welcome each and every participant and keep the tradition of letting snowmobilers use their camp as a warming hut, emergency station and stop- over for anyone needing it. Most every snowmobiler knows and respects the camp’s purpose and the simple rules which are, “Welcome to our camp. Please feel free to use our property. Leave it as found and use what you may need in an emergency." Carolyn is the “chili lady" who spends countless hours creating the best chili for everyone to enjoy from scratch. This year she made 22 gallons! Bob is the “meet and greeter" who welcomes anyone to stop by the open camp any time day or night to visit, warm up or write in the sign-in book. They exemplify the word “volunteer" in all they do for the club and public. The club members all worked hard to make this such a success. The active bunch, about 12 of us, put in long hours grooming trails, selling TMAs, holding events, running the club as officers and maintaining our equipment. A special thanks goes to the Lunenburg Polar Bears Club who not only groomed our trails while our groomer was down, but also came to the ride-in with a large contingency.
