26 | Snowmobile VERMONT Club News CALEDONIA COUNTY Buckaroos of 302 Well, it may be the middle of November, but it sure feels like the middle of winter as Kevin and I sit down to write this article. It’s a brisk 20 degrees outside, and the ground is covered with snow and more is in the forecast! If the weather continues to cooperate, we should be all set for riding on Opening Day. On Oct. 20 and Nov. 10, the Buckaroos of 302 hosted trail work days as we cleared the trails. We started our days off in Betty and Buzzy Eastman’s dooryard at CA 10 and began to work our way towards OE 76 (Butterfield Parking Lot). We had 25 volunteers on Oct. 20 and 18 volunteers on Nov. 10. A big thank you to everyone who came out and helped! We made it half way to the parking lot on Oct. 20 and we finished on Nov. 10. There were several trees and branches leaning over into the trails that needed to be cut back. All total, we cleared approximately 10 miles of trails! As we get closer and closer to Opening Day, the Buckaroos trail system is in good shape. We still have some areas that need to be signed and fields that need to be flagged as well. We will be focusing on that for the rest of November and hopefully we won’t run into any more areas that need to be cut out between now and December 16. TMA renewal forms are beginning to trickle in, and we’re expecting a flood to come through any day now. A big thank you to Gary, Barbara, and Lisa for volunteering to help out with the renewal forms! Keep checking our Facebook page and club website for snow conditions and trail updates as we move closer and closer to December 16. We have a few more work weekends planned to get our trail system ready for Opening Day. That’s all we have to report for now. Happy Holidays from the Buckaroos of 302, and we hope to see you all on the trails! As always, be safe, respect the landowner’s property, and please don’t litter our beautiful trails. Taylor Lamberton, President Kevin McDonnell, Vice President buckaroosof302.com Like us on Facebook The Buckaroos of 302 had a large group of volunteers for trail work on Nov. 10. Lyndon Sno-Cruisers We have started another snowmobile season. Hopefully and judging by the weather we have had, many snowmobilers have taken advantage of the Early Bird TMA program. November had good snow and cold weather, which caught us off guard about getting all trails marked and signed. As you read this, all trail work has been completed, including staking, bridges, and reroutes. The Lyndon Sno-Cruisers have been busy this fall with the bridge by Sheffield on Corridor 51. We also completed a reroute of Corridor 51 back to where it used to be and eliminating travel on gravel road. Corridor 54 has had a new bridge installed and a short reroute to allow for better snow-cover through the season. Snowmobilers will need to slow down and follow the signs! Another trail improvement was a Nick Emmons, Dave Perrault, Jon Gillespie, Glen Rowe, excavator operator Eli Piette, Ken Thorpe and Rick Ringgard of the Lyndon Sno-Cruisers installed a new bridge on Corridor 54.
