We were thankful to be able to all get together this summer as a club for Old Home Week and it was a great weekend and time for all involved. The E-Z Rider Traveling Tent Kitchen was up and running during the four-day event and it was such a pleasure to see so many of our club members and also landowners. Thank you to all that stopped by and got something to eat. Hats off to Rodger for making sure the kitchen was up and running each morning and for all the time he spent on the grill with the temps being in the nineties. Getting together as a club to design and decorate our two floats entered into the parade was a good time. Splitting the task between two teams got the projects done quickly. Two thumbs up to Craig and Rusty for their combined efforts on their float design showing an old and new snowmobile on the same float. Our groomer was looking good on its float in the parade. This season we will be planning at least two club rides and welcome everyone to join us. Details will be listed soon on our website. Please try and make it if you are available, we hope to make these rides an ongoing outing for all. We also should be finalizing the date for this year’s Snow Fest event. Hopefully Mother Nature will provide the snow that was missing from last year’s event so we all can ride in from Vermont or Massachusetts. Snow Fest 2016 and the raffle was a huge success for the club. We look forward to seeing you all at this year’s event with plenty of snow on the ground so our club can provide all the fun things we have planned for Snow Fest 2017. We invite you to be a contributing member to our club. Trail work will be starting soon and we welcome new faces at our meetings and work details. Come out and have some fun, share some laughs, all while doing the work that needs to be completed each year to open our trails. This year our work parties will be held Oct. 1, 2, 29 and 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with lunch served afterwards. We will be meeting at our Clubhouse and Groomer Station on Fowler Road off Route 100, directly across from the Deerfield Valley Rod and Gun Club in Whitingham. Lastly, as always, a very special thanks to all our landowners for their kindness and use of their land. We also know that many of our club members are busy and don’t have the time to help with trail work but find ways to help the club year in and year out. Once again, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Landers will be providing Jacksonville E-Z Riders entered a float showcasing their groomer in the Whitingham Old Home Week parade as well as a second float with snowmobiles. Daniel and Josephine Kotowski, Gene and Carol Clark enjoy the Deerfield Stump Jumpers’ Landowner Dinner.
