We have over 100 landowners to contact in one form or another. It takes time but is always a great pleasure to talk with these people. We are also looking at any last minute changes or damage during the summer rain events. We have one area where a logging operation has left debris in the trail that will have to be cleaned up and I am sure we will find more spots to be addressed. Will be looking to do some debrushing later this fall and into winter. Contact us if you wish to help. We are also looking for someone with experience in installing an oil furnace to help with installing one in our groomer building. Preparations for our 22nd Annual Sled Giveaway are coming along fine. This will be held on Oct. 22nd at the Elks club in Derby. We are giving away a 2017 Polaris 550 Indy plus may other donated prizes. This also includes dinner for two plus a dance with the band “ETA” afterwards. Last year’s ticket buyers have first chance, but there are always some tickets available because of people who drop out. If you are interested call us at 802-334-6179 for more info. At the VAST Annual Meeting, one of club’s directors, Larry Dywer, was awarded the Snowmobiler of the Year Award. Larry is involved with all aspects of our club and is also secretary for the Lyndon Sno-Cruisers club and involved with many of their operations. Congratulations, Larry! TMAs and club memberships will be available this season at Bob’s Quick Stop in Irasburg or from our secretary by appointment. They are also available by downloading forms and info from the membership link on our website. We will also have TMA sale days on Dec. 3, 4, 10 and 11 at Orleans Village Pizza. We will have volunteers available from 1 - 5 p.m. on those days. We are always looking for new members to become involved with the operations of our club. Many of the current officers and director are well into their senior years and it would be great to get some younger blood and fresh ideas to give these people a rest.
